I had high hopes for this album. With over 4 years passing since their last record, I though Linkin Park would put out a better album. For some reason, they pretty much totally abandoned rap-rock. I have a problem with that because LINKIN PARK WAS THE BEST RAP-ROCK BAND PERIOD! I read in Entertainment Weekly that rap-rock is losing popularity. Linkin Park must have taken that too seriously.

Who isn't going to buy a Linkin Park rap-rock album. The royalities alone from selling rights to pay songs from Meteroa every where even 3 or 4 years after it was released should have been a sign enough that Linkin Park could still sell a ton of albums while staying in the rap-rock genre. But instead, we get this album. It just sound like a lot of it has already been done. It is not dreadful, but it is disappointing. And another thing that ticks me off is the cursing on the album. I'm not used to hearing Linkin Park drop f-bombs on their songs and I don't think it really adds much emphasis.
Enough about the bad. So my favorite song on the album is "What I've Done". I like "Given Up", but I could do without the f-bombs. Everything else is good, but it all could be better. I think they could have done much better by their fans by sticking more to what their fans became their fans for. Linkin Park's previous albums were so great because they mastered the vocal team of singer and rapper to create catchy, powerful music. This is just tragic. |

Poison The Well was one of the first metal bands I listened to. Along with Killswitch Engage, they started my love for aggressive, yet melodic metal. PTW has created a crazy album, full of innovative music and off the wall lyrics. Favorite songs are "Letter Thing", "Nagania", and "The Notches That Create Your Headboard". This album is good, but not one I will play over and over again. |

I love this album. Aaron Gillespie, of Underoath, has a lot of talent and he shows his versatility on this album. The songs are sincere and well written. Favorite songs are "Say This Sooner", "Southern Weather", and "Amazing Because It Is". |

This album absolutely sucks. No question about it. It is a crappy mess. It is nothing like the previous album, which explains why it sucks. They did everything right on From Under the Cork Tree, but they are doing everything wrong on this one. I guess it just shows what happens when a band becomes wildly popular, they turn to weird poppy crap. Click the link below next to "Listen >" to the entire crappy album or just save yourself some time and don't. |

Incubus is back with a much better album than their last, just as P.O.D. did early in 2006. My favorites include "Anna Molly", "Light Grenades", and "Love Hurts". The latest edition of Incubus still is not as good as S.C.I.E.N.C.E., Make Yourself, or Morning View, but this is way better than "A Crow Left of the Murder", that was pure crap. Hope to hear some more good Incubus in the future. |

This one has been in my car's CD player since it came out. It took me a while to get used to it, but now I just can't take it out. It is certainly one of the best albums of the year. It just squeaked by Underoath, Unearth, and All That Remains to get the number one spot on my Best of 2006 list.

Of course, being the best album of the year, this one is full of great songs. My favorites include "Daylight Dies", "The Arms of Sorrow", "My Curse", "Break the Silence", and "Reject Yourself".
This album is incredible smooth sounding, which actually threw me off because the other albums have a rougher, more raw sound. I am not really sure how to describe it, but it is certainly different. |

This is Dead Poetic's best album yet. It is full of great songs and is catchy and meaningful. My favorite song is "Vices". Other favorites include: "Self Destruct and Die", "Narcotic", "In Coma", and "Long Forgotten". Really, the whole thing is full of favorites. The only song I don't care for is "Animals", which is an interlude with repeating lyrics. |

This album is much better than I expected. It is an improvement by leaps and bounds over their debut album, "Catiff Choir". The album is fanastic. I gets started with "A Constant Reminder", which is one of my favorites. Another one of my favorites is "The Bacchanal Affair". |

The Open Door is classic Evanescence. It continues the dark, gothic style that is the band's trademark. This style is what truly makes Evanscence different from most other bands out there. However, this album has too many slow, solemn songs and not enough more memorable faster, harder songs like "Bring Me to Life" on Fallen. The album starts out faster and harder but not even half way through, it slows down. My favorite song on The Open Door is "Call Me When You're Sober". |

I didn't really ever imagine myself liking The Killers' music, but I gave this album a chance when I was on AOL Music's Full CD Listening Party listening to Evanescence's The Open Door. I have to say that I was surprised; I actually liked it. This album delivers a nostalgic sound of 80s arena rock that is very catchy. It makes for a good listen. |

| The title track, "Sam's Town" starts off the album and is what made my what to continue to listen to this album. It has that classic Killers mix of 80s and modern rock. My favorite song on the album comes next (after an interlude). It is called "When You Were Young". Other favorites of mine include "Bling (Confession of a King)" with its catchy marchy sound and "Why Do I Keep Counting?". |

Why did I give this album a low rating? Well that's because I am tired of the same old rap/rock from these guys. This album doesn't sound any different from any of their other albums. It is the same thing, over and over again. I just don't care anymore. |

Jars of Clay's seventh release starts out with a string of 6 great songs. "Oh My God", the sixth song is a really great slower song that is pretty much all lyrics and full of them. The last 5 songs are not bad, but not nearly as good as the first 7. My favorites are "Work", "All My Tears", "Dead Man (Carry Me)" and "There Is A River". |

| "Dead Man (Carry Me)" is a really odd song that talks about a man who is watching his body from heaven after he dies. It is kind of weird going from a song that seems to have such a humorous tone to "All My Tears", which is also about dying, is such a somber song. "All My Tears" is about how it doesn't matter where your body lays when you die on Earth or how much pain you went through on this Earth because you will be with Jesus then. "Work" is probably my favorite song on the album. It is a faster, catchy song. "There Is A River" is about how Jesus paid the price for our sins and only He can wash you clean. |

Hatebreed's new album, Supremacy, is a mix of some really awesome songs and some sort of mediocre ones. At times this album is absolutely intense like on my favorite three songs, which are all in a row: "To The Threshold", "Give Wings To My Triumph", and "Destroy Everything". Other times it just seems like they could have done a lot better like on the tracks, "Horrors of Self", "Mind Over All", and "Spitting Venom" among others. |

| "Give Wings To My Triumph" is one of my favorite Hatebreed songs. I really feel that they broke out of there mold on this song. Three other songs I enjoy a lot are "Defeatist", "Divine Judgment", and "Immortal Enemies". Overall, I think this is a good album, but I anticipated a little better. I don't think they made an overall better album than "Rise of Brutality", which is among my favorites. It is often hard for me to like a new album better than one I have listened to countless times. This has happened to me with Underoath, Unearth, and All That Remains this summer as well. All great new albums though. |

Wow, another awesome album from Unearth. It took me a while to get used to this album. In The Eyes of Fire is packed full of awesome songs; the whole thing is spectacular.

(That's every song on the album because they are all awesome, but hey at least I put them in an order of preference.)
"So It Goes" features my favorite riffs on the album to start off and end the song. "Sanctity of Brothers" is just great period. So my point is, if you like metal, you must own this now. |

I've had this album playing in my car for a week now. It is a tremendous album by a group of very talented musicians. Among my favorites are the first song, "This Calling", and "Whispers (I Hear You)". The Fall of Ideals is very different from their previous two releases in that there is not a lot of long instrumental parts in the songs. That is actually the short fall of this album. The song lengths are way shorter because they don't play solos within the songs. Other than that, this is a great heavy hitting album. |

This album is not really what I expected it would be, but it is a very good album. It is much darker than They're Only Chasing Safety. The album starts out hard and heavy with one of my favorite songs on the album, "In Regards To Myself". Next song is another of my favorites, a powerful, heavy song titled "A Moment Suspended In Time". Two more great heavy songs follow.

| Then the album turns very slow and soft with the instrumental song, "Salmamir". I would rather have a real song on there instead of a three minute interlude, but its not bad. "Returning Empty Handed" sits in the middle of two mainly instrumental parts of the album. It is a decent song, but not as good as some of the others on the album. "Casting Such A Thin Shadow" starts with a two or three minute instrumental only piece, then kicks in and starts the album rockin' again. The album finishes strong with four more great songs including another of my favorites, "Writing On The Walls". That song is probably the only song that is even close to their sound on They're Only Chasing Safety. |

For me this album came out of nowhere. This is by far Hoobastank's best album. The whole thing is great. The lyrics are great. Their musical talents have improved tremendously. My favorite tracks on this album are "Born To Lead", "Moving Forward", "The First of Me", and "More Than A Memory". "Born To Lead" kicks off the album driving the theme of the album that you should think for yourself, be who you are, and don't let anyone tell you differently. The marching beat and drill sergent are brilliant touches. "More Than A Memory" is a great ballad that finishes off the album. It is simply a beautiful song. |

Far-Less's new album is good, but it does not compare with the best Tooth and Nail albums. Their music is sort of odd because every time you think they are really going to take off and play something catchy, they switch and play something more edgy. It is still an interesting album though and while that aspect seems to hold them back, it also makes them unique. |

At first, I didn't think this album would be very good, but I decided to give it a chance by buying it anyway. It is a lot better than I thought. Not as good as Satellite, but much better than the letdown of their last album, self-titled. The album is very diverse in the kinds of songs on it. If you liked Satellite and Southtown, it is worth buying this one. |
